In Inforiver Matrix we can import icons from external sources. While Power BI also allows us to import entire icon sets from external sources, the ability to import individual icons is simply not possible.
Let us take an example, say that you work as a medical consultant who happens to be consulting a chain of hospitals, and as part of your work you must prepare a Dashboard showing various items including the number of doctors per hospital. You need an icon which represents doctors.
We can simply download our required icons from any website in this case we will use Find Icons with the Perfect Look & Feel | Font Awesome for downloading our icon:
Once we download our icon, we will import it into our report.
Here are the steps to do so:
1) In Home tab we select the Conditional Formatting tab, and under that dropdown we will select Create Rule option:
2) Next, we will select Rules (If Conditions) under the Format by dropdown:
3) Then we will select the Icon tick box to enable icons for our formatting
4) Next, we will select from the Icon dropdown and under that we will select Upload Icon option so that we can upload our icon from any external source:
5) Finally, after uploading our icon into our report, we can click on Apply and see our icon get applied on our report:
