Do you know that it is possible to share data with masked values?
Step 1: Set Diagnose to On on selecting the visual.
Inforiver>>Home>>Display>>Diagnose
Step 2: Backup Report Config
Inforiver>>Export>>Config>>Backup Report Config will download a json file with all configurations.
Note: Backup Report Config is available from Power BI service not Power BI Desktop.
Step 3: Copy to Clipboard
Inforiver>>Export>>Copy to Clipboard will copy the data with random values.
Open a text editor and paste the content and Save.
Step 4: Share the json(step 2) and text file(step 3) with us for investigation.
FAQ:
Will the above steps download the actual confidential data?
No, the actual values will be changed to some random numbers. Therefore, confidential data is not shared. Note: This data will not be changed in the visual.
Will the data after masking be shown in the visual?
No, the visual data will remain the same however the copying data will be masked with random numbers.
Why do we need to share files like this?
The json and text file will be required in order to replicate an issue reported and when it is not reproducible in our report.
Why Diagnose is not available for me?
The Diagnose option has been moved from Visualisation-->Format your visual to Display tab in Inforiver.
