How to Apply TopN in Conditional Formatting through Ranking in Inforiver Matrix

Sometimes when formatting our reports, we would like to highlight the Top performing data or the Bottom performing data in our report while retaining the rest of the data. Sort of like having a TopN feature when applying our Conditional Formatting while at the same time not hiding the rest of the data.

While the TopN feature in Power BI filters out the Top/Bottom values:

It doesn't allow us to highlight/Format these values while at the same time retaining the remaining values.

So, if I have a report in which I want to highlight the top performing Products within a specific Region while retaining the rest of the Products then the only way this can be achieved is through the Ranking feature in Inforiver Matrix.

Let us illustrate with an example.

3) Next, we select for which Values we want to apply our rule and then select the Ranking option under the Format by options:

4) Finally, we can create our rule as per our own requirements and then we can click Apply. In this case we want to highlight the Top two Segments within each Country by Gross Revenue:

6) We also have multiple options to choose our conditions like for example we can choose either Top, Bottom, or even Both:
