How to Apply Percentage (%) Number Formatting when using Native Power BI Format in our Report

One of the most important use cases for report creators is to show their data in Native Power BI format while displaying Percentage (%) number formatting in certain rows or columns. Usually this is done for financial reports where they want to highlight any financial ratios in the report using percentage (%).

For example, in the below P&L report we want to show all the values in Native Power BI Format except the Net Profit Margin row which we want to display as a percentage. Net Profit Margin is calculated as Net Profit divided by Gross Revenue and we want to display this as percentage:

This report is using Power BI Native Format, and this effectively means that all the values are in Native Power BI Format:

However, we don't support Percentage (%) number formatting in Native Power BI Format so in our example we cannot change the Net Profit Margin using the Percentage (%) number formatting:

In order to use Percentage (%) number formatting while retaining the Native Power BI Format for the remaining values we first need to go to Quick Format -> select 'None' option:

Now when we select the Net Profit Margin row, we can enable the Percentage (%) number formatting:

No, we do not have this restriction in other data formats.

Why do we have this restriction in Native Format?

Since Native Power BI Format directly comes from Power BI and is already preformatted, we cannot format it using percentage formatting (%) in Inforiver.
