In Excel, we have often used tables where we can freeze columns for easier navigation. See the example below.
This basic feature can be extremely useful for Power BI report creators who like to keep track of large amounts of data without having to scroll around constantly. However, unlike Excel, Power BI table or matrix visuals do not support the freeze columns feature.
This is where the Pin Column feature in Inforiver Matrix comes to the rescue.
1. Select any column and click on the three horizontal lines (burger icon) located on the top left side of the header of your chosen column:
2. Click on the burger icon. You will get an option called Pin Column. Select that option:
3. You will now be able to scroll the table/matrix with ease
4. You can even unpin a column by once again selecting the burger icon on the top left hand side corner of the column and selecting Un-pin Column:
5. In Inforiver we can freeze up to a maximum of four columns in a Report:
6. We can Unfreeze all columns at once by selecting any one of the Pin columns and selecting the Un-pin All option:
