We can now perform the same Filter Context function using Inforiver Super Filter. For reference the Filter Context feature allows users to enter comments or notes in the Inforiver visual when applying filter/slicers and then the visual is made aware of the context when switching between filter/slicers.
You can learn more about Filter Context here --> Power BI Comments with Filter/Slicer Context Awareness
We can achieve the same using Inforiver Super Filter. Let us understand with the below example.
Let us say we have a report like below:
Let us connect the Super Filter to the Inforiver visual by going to Insert Tab -> Filter Context -> Select the Super Filter option under Context Measure like shown below:
Now let us apply the filter for the year 2013 and add a row level note and a column level note like shown below:
And let us do the same for the year 2014 wherein we add a column level note when applying the 2014 slicer:
When we switch between the year slicers, we can clearly see that the notes are visible only when those specific year slicers are applied:
In the past this could only be achieved through the use of Filter Context but now the same can be achieved with Super Filter. And the process is far easier and less time consuming in Super Filter than when compared to Filter Context.
For example, this is how it works in Filter Context.
a) First, we have to create the DAX for the category we want to filter. In the below example we are generating Filter Context for Year as we want to filter by Year:
b) Next, we copy the DAX and create a DAX measure in Power BI and add the DAX measure in the Others (OM) section in Inforiver:
c) Then we have to hide our Filter Context columns by using the Hide feature:
d) Finally let us add a column level note under the 2013-year slicer:
When we switch to 2014 slicer, we can see that the column level note we had added in 2013 slicer is gone, and the context is retained:
We can clearly see that the Inforiver Super Filter is far easier to use when compared to the Filter Context measure and it requires lesser steps to achieve the same result.
FAQs:

2) Can we apply the same process for Comments which we had applied for Notes (comments feature available only in Inforiver Writeback Matrix)?
