Dynamic Conditional Formatting Based on User Selection in Power BI

With Inforiver, you can apply formatting to all the cells in the report based on user selection. For example, suppose we have a sales report, and we want to highlight cells where the sales amount is greater than the value selected by the user in the matrix. Refer to the image above.

Steps to apply conditional formatting based on user selection:

Step 1: In the Home tab, go to Conditional Formatting > Create Rule. This will open a new panel on the right side.

Step 2: Under the 'Format by' section, select the option "Rules (if conditions)."

Step 3: Next, under the ‘Conditions’ selection, choose the 'User selection' option, as shown in the image above. Next, select the columns/measures from the dropdown to allow user selection on those columns.

Step 4: Set the formatting style for the cells to highlight them and click on apply.

Step 5: Now, select any cell in the sales column. It will highlight other cells where our condition meets.
