Different Layout Options in Inforiver Matrix

Inforiver Matrix offers multiple layout options which can be used in our reports. These layout options can be easily accessed under the Layout feature located under the Home Tab:

1) The first layout type is the Hierarchy layout. This is the default layout type selected whenever we add any dataset in our Inforiver visual. In the Hierarchy layout the data is showcased in a hierarchical expand-collapse enabled format:

2) The next layout type is the Outline Layout. In the Outline layout we see Row Categories as separate columns. Also in this particular layout, the Rail feature is enabled by default. The Rail feature is used to easily resize rows and columns as well as to select a specific column:

You can read more about the Rail feature here: Did you know about Inforiver Rails?

3) The third layout type is the Table layout which showcases categories in a tabular format, without any expand-collapse hierarchies for rows:

However, hierarchy expand/collapse option is available for columns. In the below example you can see expand/collapse option available for (Segment - Product):

4) The fourth layout type is the Stepped layout. It is similar to the Outline layout in that each category is listed in a column. The only stark difference being the availability of a separate total row for each branch of the hierarchy:

5) The final layout option is Drilldown layout. It is very similar to the Drill through option we have in Power BI with the main difference being that we have Drilldown as a layout option in Inforiver. With the drill down layout, you can deep dive into the dataset. This is also an ideal option when you have a huge volume of rows, and the expand/collapse may not be ideal in such circumstances especially if we want a better breakdown of our data:
