Did you know how Inforiver Group feature works?

Group feature allows to add new groups to any number of rows/columns with the specified name and can be positioned under the parent hierarchy.

For instance, let us try grouping the rows of colors starting with B and position the Group Label at Top.

See below the grouped "B Colours" row which can be expanded or collapsed, can also be reordered.

On selection of the Group row, the Group icon changes to Remove group.

How does Column Group look?

For the same example, see below the Sales Group, the new Column Group with formatting.

FAQ

1. Why is Group feature disabled?

   The Group will be enabled when selecting two or more rows/columns next to each other.

2. Can we Group rows/columns that are apart?

   To use the Group feature, the rows/columns should be next to each other. For example, row 1 and row 4 cannot be grouped. Instead row 1,2,3 and 4 can be grouped.

3. Is Grouping available in Table layout?

   No, Group feature will enable and work only for Hierarchy layout.

4. Is there any limitation for Group?

   Group is unavailable in Report layout, Page Break, Explorer, Top N and Combine Column Headers.

5. Possible to Group in Reading View?

   No, Group will be disabled in Reading view.

6. Will Group work in all layouts?

   Group will work in Hierarchy layout only.
