Conditional Formatting โ€“ Classification Through Text in Inforiver Matrix

When using a Sales Report, we would like to know how each member of the Sales Team has performed. Having a text-based classification of data gives us a clear indication of how each member has performed in accordance with their sales target.

In Power BI this can be accomplished by first creating a column measure, and then writing DAX measures using the switch function to color either the text or background so that we can show the differentiation.

In Inforiver, with a simple click we can use conditional formatting to classify data via text.

Let us illustrate this with an example:

1. We go to the Home tab and select Conditional Formatting tab, and under that we select Create Rule:

2. Next in the Conditional Formatting popup, we choose Classification option under Format by:

  1. Under the Display option we will then choose any one of the text classifications available. In this case we will be using HIGH MEDIUM LOW classification:

    1. Once we have selected our text classification click Apply. We can now see that our text classification has been duly applied on our dataset:

    5. We can even change the position of the text classification. Say for example we want the classification to be on the right-hand side of the dataset. Simply select Right of data under Text position dropdown and click Apply:

  1. We even have an option of only showing the text so that our end users needn't see our dataset but just see the interpretation of the data:
