Supposing we have a Dashboard or Report, and we want to highlight certain data points to the end users. The end users could be either our customers or even top management of our company to whom we want to highlight certain data points. Then the best way to highlight such data points is by using Annotation feature in Inforiver Charts.
The Annotation feature is located under the Story section:
Say we have a sample report showcasing the Gross Revenue by various Segments and we want to show our customers which Segments are performing really well, and which Segments are performing badly. We can use the Annotation feature to showcase this.
Select Annotation -> Create:
After selecting Create, then next select where you want to place the Annotation box and click there:
We can now type in whatever we want in our Annotation box:
We can even move the text box around:
Also, we can change the position of the Annotation Marker:
To customize a particular Annotation box, we can simply follow the below steps.
Annotation box -> Three dots -> Settings
We can even Edit or Delete that particular Annotation box this way.
Here are the following things we can customize under the Annotation box.
1) We can change the alignment of the text in the text box:
2) We can change our Annotation Indicator. There are currently four types of Annotation indicators to choose from:
Marker Annotation indicator wherein the Annotation text box will become visible only when we hover over the Annotation Marker:
Text+Arrow indicator where only the Text box and arrow will be visible and not the Annotation Marker:
Floating Text Indicator where only the text box is available:
3) We can change the Border lines of our Annotation box (Solid, Dashed, Dotted), width of the box and even change the color of the border:
4) We can also customize the Arrow of our Annotation box along similar lines:
5) Finally, we can also customize our Annotation Marker:
In addition to all this we can even hide all our Annotation boxes if we don't want to see them.
Simply go to Annotation -> Hide all:
We can also customize any newly created Annotation boxes by clicking on Annotation -> Settings:
Finally, we can select Annotation -> Reset all to delete all our Annotation Boxes:
