Analytics+ - Error Bar for Stacked and Cluster chart

What is the Error bar? 

Error bars in graphs indicate the uncertainty in a measurement or estimate. They are used to visually represent the variability of data and can be added to bar, line, and scatter plots. 

Where can this Error Bar be accessed in Analytics+? 

The Error Bar can be accessed in the Analytics option in the Charts tab, as shown below.

What are the different customization options for the Error Bar? 

The error bar can be customized in different ways. For instance, the colour of the bar and the marker can be changed, as displayed below. 

The thickness of the line as well as the marker can be changed as follows. 

Even the shape of the marker can be customized, as displayed below.

You can also enable the Label for the Error bar and customize the font and the background colour too.

Additionally, the error bar can also be displayed to cover the area. It can be displayed to fill, or just as a line or both under the Style dropdown option. 

These are the customization options available for the Error Bar. 

Where can the Error Bar be used? 

The Error Bar can be used in both Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service. But this is only available in the Edit view of Power BI Service and not in the Reading View.

  1. In what charts is the Error Bar available? 

The Error Bar is available for Stacked, 100% stacked and Grouped/Cluster charts. 

  1. What is the limit for the Line Thickness and Marker Size and Label Font? 

  • Line Thickness: 0 to 30 

  • Marker Size: 0 to 100 

  • Label Font: 0 to 30 

  1. Why is the Error Bar not available for Stacked Waterfall chart? 

The Analytics feature is not applicable for the Stacked Waterfall chart and hence the Error bar is not available for this chart.
